FAB9100 – BreadBoard Module

For those times when you want to  experiment using your own circuit design in the FAB universe, we offer the FAB9100 BreadBoard Module.

All holes/pads are standard 0.1″ pitch. And all power rails (V+, V-, and +48V) are automatically routed for you from the Input Headers to the Output Headers. (That way, all FAB modules down the chain still get their power. We don’t want you to forget supplying power for them!)

FAB3110 – Output Transformer Module

The FAB3110 – Output Transformer Module is designed for PCB mounting of typical output transformers like the Cinemag CMOQ-2S and compatibles. These type of transformers are commonly used in “API-type/style” preamps.

You typically connect the FAB3110 Output Transformer Module after your amplifying module (FAB4000 series modules). That way, your processed/amplified signal chain will go first through the output transformer.

A FAB3010 XLR Ouput Module could then be connected after the FAB3110 Output Transformer Module.

FAB9001 – Cable to FAB Adapter

There may be situations where you don’t want to plugin a FAB module directly to another FAB module. Some situations I can think of is If you want to position the additional module somewhere else (trying to fit in a chassis). Or you may want to make a U-turn so the XLR Output Module is facing the same direction as the XLR Input Module. Or maybe, your signal chain is getting too long and you want to break it up so it will  be easier to work with.

You can solve all these issues by using an ordinary 10-pin male-to-male IDC cable to hook up the different FAB Modules together.

The normal FAB Module uses Female Headers for the Inputs. So for us to be able to use an ordinary male-to-male flexible IDC cable, we also need Male Headers in front of the FAB Module. Here comes the FAB9001 Cable to FAB Adapter to the rescue.

Bitmaps in PCB Design – Part II

The 600dpi Bitmap import I made (see this post), wasn’t successful when I uploaded my gerber files to the PCB house.

So Plan B…. I reduced it to 200DPI, and I think that did the trick. The gerbers were accepted, preview looks fine, so now we wait 2 weeks before we can get our boards.
