Received the FAB2010 XLR Input Module today. I’ll have my SMD parts coming in the next few days, then I’ll be able to build the first prototype in my “Reflow Oven”… i.e. a stock Toaster Oven. I’ll make a post about my experiences with my “Reflow Oven.”
To recap, the FAB2010 module features a Neutrik PCB mounted XLR jack, logic level control for phantom power, and -20dB pad. In addition, it features a soft-start phantom power. i.e. The 48Volts is raised slowly, instead of being switched on abruptly. This prevents loud mic popping when turning on phantom power since the 48volts is applied gently your expensive microphones.
Once the prototype boards have been tested and found to be working without problems, I’ll open up for pre-orders for Bare PCBs, Kits and Ready-made FAB Modules.
